There is caramel sauce and then there is amaretto caramel sauce of your dreams. This sauce is eat by the spoonful good. So, so good! It gets bonus points for being even simpler than traditional caramel to make and the almond liquor makes it out of this world! I suggest running to the kitchen and promptly making some.
Amaretto Caramel Sauce

A boozy caramel sauce, for topping whatever your heart desires.

Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1/2 Cup Packed, Light Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup White Sugar
- 1/3 Cup Half and Half
- 3 Tablespoons Amaretto (Disaronno)
- Pinch of Salt
Instructions
- Combine the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Add the half and half, amaretto and salt. Bring to a simmer. Simmer for five minutes, stirring regularly. Remove from heat and allow to cool at least 10 minutes.
Notes
- Store in a mason jar (with lid) in the fridge and rewarm to serve...over everything you can imagine. Yum!

What on earth is Half and half?
It’s common in Canada. We sometimes call it creamo too. It’s 10% cream.
This is amazing!!! Also serve it warm over brownies and ice cream!

It seems to improve upon nearly anything it is added to!
