Bowling themed cupcakes are a fun and quick treat that is perfect for a night of bowling. They are great for kids to help with too, since they are basically just candy arranged strategically.
Bowling Themed Cupcakes
We went with a vanilla cupcake, care of my daughter for our bowling themed cupcakes. However my favourite vanilla cupcake recipe can be found here.
We whipped up a batch of vanilla butter cream icing. And piped it on.
Lastly we arranged 3 coke bottle candies for the bowling pins and one Malteser for the ball on all the cupcakes.
The 70’s vibe of the candies and their hues are not lost on me and that is exactly what helps them pull in the retro bowling alley theme!
Directions
- First bake up a batch of cupcakes and allow to cool completely.
- Make a batch of vanilla buttercream.
- Using a piping bag fit with a Wilton 1M or 2D tip, pipe frosting onto each cupcake.
- Place 3 coke bottles in place for bowling pins and 1 Malteser for the bowling ball.
- Repeat until all cupcakes are complete.

Recipe Notes
The frosting looks neater if piped on and holds up the candy well with the ridges, but it could just be spread on if need be too.
