Blueberry pie is nothing new and a rather easy fruit pie at that. No peeling or dicing of fruit. Just a quick rinse and sort through of the berries. But I like to kick it up a notch and amplify the flavours by adding freshly grated ginger! It’s my ‘secret’ or unexpected ingredient I insist on adding to blueberry pie that is not in most recipes and makes all the difference!
As easy kids treats go, it doesn’t get much easier or popular as marshmallow pops. These simple treats are a hit with kids and are very little hands friendly for assembling.
It occurred on me in my last donut making spree, that I could make churros and honey crullers simultaneously. Because basically both crullers and churros begin with a choux pastry. And what’s better than making one deep fried treat?! Making two.
There are oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and then are oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. I can’t really tell you why this particular recipe of somewhat conventional ingredients is so fantastic. But it is a really, really good cookie!
Yes you can make bread without yeast. This Irish soda bread is a great example of yeast free bread from on hand items. And what a delicious example it is. A knead free, yeast free no-rise quick bread.
As a photographer and avid Instagrammer I am surprised it actually took me so long to come up with an excuse to have camera sugar cookies in my life. I was long overdue to come up with a camera inspired cookie! These little cuties made their debut at a photography show of my work. I figured that making friends with cookies, and cute cookies at that, could hardly go wrong!
I find nearly any boxed cake mix, from any brand, can be greatly improved with just a few simple tricks or substitutions. Many a fun, decorated cake has begun with a mix. With just a few simple substitutions and a mix can taste infinitely better!
These Lingonberry cinnamon sweet buns are incredible! A delectable treat that I stumbled into creating, in an effort to use up left over Lingonberry Jam from Ikea. I thought why not and kept my expectations low. And this deliciousness was born. Now instead of looking for ways to use up leftover jam, I am trying to think of a way to get back to Ikea for some more. Does this count as an #IkeaHack?!
These little heart shaped cookies with cat whiskers are simple, fun and oh so cute! A great treat to whip up for a kids party, themed or not! If I remember correctly my kids took these to an actual cat themed party, but they were a great deal easier to do with a cute heart nose and whiskers than actual cat shaped cookies.
This fantastic homemade pie dough recipe was handed down from my mother-in-law. I find it versatile, flaky and delicious. It also delights me that it doesn’t require a chill in the fridge unless one wants to!
