Our cardboard play house! The kids are never too far from making a plea to keep a ‘perfect’ box or coveted found object forever. 30 Ideas For Kids Indoor Activities
It donned on me, with the suggestion from a brilliant family member, that we have a fair number of kids indoor activities we have done ourselves. We have used them over the years to keep busy and occupied while … you guessed it… indoors. We have been social distancing at different times, for one reason or another, before we even knew there was actually a term for it!

Oyster Shell Art
Oyster art. Because maybe you are like us and like to bring a little of the beach home with you. Maybe you are like my self and use discernment for a special little piece of sea glass here or there. Or perhaps you are more like my youngest and it’s as much as your pockets can hold (and those of your fellow beach goers that you enlist to carry even more). Either way we like to have a summer project when our two families get together with the cousins for a week in the summer. This year it was in Powell River and we found a beach in our travels covered with the most interesting leftovers of oyster shells and inspiration hit. Every year I like to challenge myself to come up with some new and cute, but fun and edible way for my daughter and her classmates to celebrate year end. A literary sign post. I have seen many versions of delightful storybook and literary sign posts floating around Pinterest for years and have of course wanted to make my own for ages. But really our place is done, there is not an inch to spare. But when I took on the challenge of turning a portable at my daughter’s school into a fun and inviting multi purpose space, I knew I finally had just the excuse I needed!!
