D.I.Y. Back to School Chalkboard Sign

chalkboards

A homemade chalkboard sign can help make back to school all the more momentous and the photos all the more adorable. I think it’s safe to say I am all about the photos and memories and remembering funny things and moments. So it’s no real surprise that it has become a bit of a right of passage in our house to hold and make our first day of school signs. Continue reading D.I.Y. Back to School Chalkboard Sign

Mommy Loves Coffee in The Summer

Coffee. Apparently this sums up summer!!!

I mean we did encourage her to keep a journal over the summer break. I just didn’t expect it to go in quite this direction.

Honourable mention about my two cup a day summer coffee habit, is arguably note worthy of course. I mean it doesn’t get much more fun than that when we discuss summer break now does it?! But is it really too much to ask that I don’t look drunk with my coffee, and struggling to stay upright on my chair in the sunshine?!

Well this gem of a picture prompted some inquiries as to what mama puts in her coffee… (cream and sugar, thank you very much). HA. Thanks kid. Nothing like looking drunk on your coffee to start off a new school year on the right foot!

“No, I do not have drinking problem. Yes, I love coffee. Yes, we did some amazing things this summer. No, I did not make my children watch me drink coffee all summer long…”

Sheesh remind me to think twice before enjoying a cup of coffee on our back deck.

More wonderful artwork for mom!

Crazy Hair Day Cookies

Along with all the hype and fervour that comes with crazy hair day in this house. We generally make some sort of sweet treat for the class. We have a hard time celebrating any momentous occasion or day with out cake or cookies of some sort (and to our eldest daughter, crazy hair day is very momentous). It’s not that we as a family always eat that many cakes or cookies in actuality (people are always shocked to hear my kids say no to cake or treats or that husband rarely eats them and that generally I give them away), but we love to recognize small or fun occasions and share a treat with the class where and when we can. So cue the crazy hair day cookies! Continue reading Crazy Hair Day Cookies
