You ever get that feeling – that you have just witnessed or been made part of something big?! That is the feeling I got when I attended this years Healthy Family Expo as a Media Guest. It’s an incredible expo, but a glimpse behind the scenes was even more impressive.
It’s an amazing and huge expo with every detail thought of for an inclusive, fun atmosphere for parents and kids.
It’s even better when you consider the fact that the Healthy Family Expo (now in it’s 5th year) was the brain child of 2 local women (who also happen to be mothers themselves). And is now entirely run, advertised and organized by a team of 3 incredible woman – and of course with the help of many, many others too – but they oversee it all! And boy are they on top of things. I was fortunate enough to get my glimpse behind the scenes on the day of and see how everything was working so smoothly. And because one of these three amazing woman just so happens to be my friend, I was able to ask questions leading up to the event and really see how everything came together. It was little awe inspiring and just like anything that is done well, it’s because of the hard work and expertise that goes into it. But this is no small feat when the expo draws crowds of 12,000 people in a day.
Family Friendly
There is plenty of room for strollers, plus stroller parking, rock climbing wall (definitely my kids favourite), bouncy castles, trampolines, entertainment and more food samples than anyone can imagine.
Snacks Galore
I for one came across several items that I will adding to our grocery list of brands I might not have purchased had I not sampled them first. And who doesn’t love finding a new favourite food option?!
Add in the literally countless booths and boutiques, that were chocked full of coupons or other expo day fun, to learn and discover some of the wonderful things our city has to offer. I think it’s safe to say I am already looking forward to next years event!
I’m so sad we missed the expo this year! We went last year and it was so fun. Liv loved the wall climbing!
Great photos and sounds like a fun & informative event.
So much fun!
